Works on Water makes artwork on, in and with the water.
We are artists and curators who work with water in response to the changing climate, increasing urban density, and a burgeoning public awareness of ecological concerns. Our work connects to current economic, political, and global issues and is in conversation with the traditions of Land Art, Public Art, and Performance Art, among others.
We PRODUCE EXHIBITIONS and events
As part of our 2020-2023 Triennial, we will be showing works on Governors Island and around New York City. Stay tuned for more!
We build partnerships
Our voices are stronger when we join them together: as part of our environmental advocacy mission, we are committed to building cross-disciplinary partnerships. We are excited to continue our collaboration with Culture Push and the New York City Department of City Planning to build awareness of the new Comprehensive Waterfront Plan.
We cultivate community
Works on Water has invited over 100 artists to make works in, on, and with the water. We are excited to announce our 2021 WoWhaus co-hort on Governors Island.
